Large Floral Prints

18 Dec

Another fashion trend, which can be seen in the street as soon as the first warm days arrive, naive, Japanese-style, psychedelic, retro or pictorial floral prints are all in  this year. This joyful, spring looking prints remind us the vintage granny’s dresses and her wallpaper. While many women love flowers and enjoy adorning their outfits with floral patterns, not all fashion followers know how to wear them. In order to make it work, choose a rather simple print with large flowers and as clothing item, you can opt for a short flared dress, gathered to the knee skirt with a belt marking the waist, a blouse or a pair of pants.

A long flowery skirt with ruffles is good idea during the day, but it is perhaps a little too simple. The point is to bring a pep touch to a basic office style outfit. This is why a floral print will look very nice on a medium length skirt. You can take Jil Sander’s example and associate it a basic white T-shirt, in order not to over do it. Sobriety is the key when it comes to accessories if you don’t want to go for a total 60s look.

If you want to assume a Lolita look, floral prints on a pair of shorts will go very well with offset colored glasses and a girly handbag. A retro style baby doll floral shirt worn with high waist denim shorts and a pair of ballet flats will provide you with a relaxed holiday look, while pajama shorts bearing large daisies will make the perfect pop outfit for a night out in the city. For a more discrete look, you can place the wave of floral prints on a tank top. Medium length trousers and high heeled sandals will be the best allies of this chic and sober top.
